Work Hours: 1 PM – 9 PM IST

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview:

  • Seeking a Cloud Architect (Azure) to provide architectural leadership and design governance across its Azure infrastructure and platform environments.
  • This role is responsible for defining cloud architecture standards, guiding modernization and resiliency initiatives, and ensuring infrastructure solutions align with security, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • The Cloud Architect will work closely with onshore Infrastructure and Cloud Operations leadership, Information Security, and Application teams while providing architectural direction to offshore Cloud Engineers executing approved designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Azure Architecture & Design
    • Define and maintain Azure architecture standards, patterns, and reference designs.
    • Lead architectural design for cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform services.
    • Design scalable, resilient, and secure Azure solutions across development, QA, and production environments.
    • Provide architectural input for modernization, migration, and cloud-native initiatives.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Platform Standards
    • Define standards for Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep) usage and governance.
    • Review and approve IaC designs and implementations for alignment with architectural standards.
    • Guide remediation of legacy and brownfield environments toward standardized, automated deployments.
  • Reliability, Resiliency & Disaster Recovery
    • Lead architectural design for high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
    • Support development of disaster recovery strategies and environment architectures.
    • Ensure architectural decisions support uptime, recoverability, and operational resilience goals.
  • Security & Compliance Alignment
    • Partner with Information Security to ensure architectural designs support NIST and audit requirements.
    • Embed security controls and secure-by-design principles into infrastructure architectures.
    • Review and guide remediation strategies for infrastructure-level security findings.
  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration
    • Provide architectural guidance and oversight to Cloud Engineers and Infrastructure teams.
    • Collaborate with application architecture and development teams to ensure infrastructure alignment.
    • Participate in design reviews, technical planning sessions, and roadmap discussions.
    • Support onshore/offshore collaboration through clear documentation and structured handoffs.
  • Documentation & Governance
    • Produce and maintain architectural diagrams, standards documentation, and design artifacts.
    • Contribute to governance processes related to cloud architecture, platform standards, and technical decision-making.
    • Ensure architectural decisions are documented, reviewed, and traceable.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in cloud and infrastructure architecture, with strong Azure focus.
  • Proven experience designing and governing Azure infrastructure and platform architectures.
  • Deep understanding of Azure services including compute, networking, storage, and platform services.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code frameworks (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
  • Experience designing high availability and disaster recovery solutions in cloud environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and overlapping time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting cloud environments in regulated or audit-driven enterprises.
  • Familiarity with Defender for Cloud and infrastructure security best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with application architecture and development teams.
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-305 or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in hybrid or large-scale enterprise cloud environments.

Success Measures:

  • Consistent adoption of standardized cloud architecture patterns.
  • Reduced architectural rework and design drift across environments.
  • Improved resiliency and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Effective guidance and mentorship of Cloud Engineers.
  • Strong alignment between infrastructure architecture, security, and operational requirements.

Role Fit Summary:

  • Provide architectural authority and governance, not hands-on execution.
  • Enable scalable, secure, and resilient Azure platform design.
  • Reduce single-architect dependency through distributed design leadership.
  • Support modernization and DR initiatives with consistent architecture.
  • Complement offshore execution with strong onshore collaboration.
